Chapter 74. PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT |
Article III. DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE |
§ 74-48. Appointment.
(a)
Membership. The Development Advisory Committee of Gwinnett County shall consist of 19 members appointed by the board of commissioners. Such members shall serve at the pleasure of the board of commissioners. Any action to remove a member of the Development Advisory Committee of Gwinnett County shall only be initiated by a member of the board of commissioners.
(1)
The chairman of the board of commissioners shall appoint a member.
(2)
Each district commissioner shall appoint one member.
(3)
One member from the Gwinnett 101 Citizens Academy.
(4)
One representative from the Gwinnett Council for Seniors.
(5)
One representative from a homeowner's association within unincorporated Gwinnett County.
(6)
One representative from a community improvement district.
(7)
One representative from the Gwinnett Chapter, Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Atlanta.
(8)
One representative from the council for quality growth.
(9)
A residential developer.
(10)
A non-residential developer.
(11)
A re-development developer.
(12)
One representative from the zoning board of appeals.
(13)
One representative from the Municipal-Gwinnett Planning Commission.
(14)
One representative of a utility company.
(15)
One representative from the tree advisory committee.
(16)
One authorized registered professional as defined in the Gwinnett County Unified Development Ordinance.
(b)
The five representatives appointed by the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners shall reside in Gwinnett County, or be the owner of a business or a principal of a firm or corporation having its principal place of business located in Gwinnett County.
(c)
Staff shall make recommendations to the board of commissioners for the board of commissioners' appointments to the committee members from the following categories:
(1)
Community improvement district.
(2)
Council for quality growth.
(3)
Residential developer.
(4)
Non-residential developer.
(5)
Zoning board of appeals.
(6)
Municipal-Gwinnett Planning Commission.
(7)
Utility company representative.
(8)
One authorized registered professional as defined in the Gwinnett County Unified Development Ordinance.
(d)
For the establishment of the committee, staff shall make recommendations to the board of commissioners who shall appoint the committee members from the following categories. Thereafter, the committee shall make recommendations to the board of commissioners who shall appoint the committee members from the following categories.
(1)
Gwinnett 101 Citizens Academy.
(2)
Gwinnett Council for Seniors.
(3)
A homeowners' association within the unincorporated area of the county.
(4)
Gwinnett County Tree Advisory Committee.
(5)
A re-development developer.
(6)
Gwinnett Chapter of the Homebuilders' Association of Metropolitan Atlanta.
(g)
Compensation. The members of the development advisory committee shall serve without compensation or reimbursement of any kind. Normal costs of operations, such as meeting space and minutes shall be borne by the county through the department.
(h)
Limitation. No current employee of Gwinnett County government may be a member of the development advisory committee.
